More Kelis and Crookers.

“Damn, they’re gonna bring dubstep mainstream.”

Duck S’mac

November 25, 2009

So my boyfriend and I have somewhat of an addiction to mac ‘n cheese. As in, no matter where we are, if it’s on the menu, we’re eating it. We recently got turned on to S’MAC. They’re entire menu is mac ‘n cheese! He had the Cheeseburger, I had the Napoletana. I won. And we won with our wine to go along with it.

One early morning, which isn’t something that happens very often for us (we’re still stuck in vacation mode), we got out asses out of bed and walked a mile and a half to Egg. The menu had my jaw at the floor. We ordered the duck hash and grits and eggs with homemade pork sausage. Boyfriend wasn’t a huge fan, but I love grapefruit so I also had the caramelized grapefruit with mint. A great way for us to start our day… As we walked back home and went back to sleep.

Oh, and Kelis is back at it. Listen to her new track here.

It’s Like Butter Baby

One of my favorite spots in the East Village. Best cupcakes, hands down. And (not that I’m a super crazy junkie on this) but they’re ORGANIC! Boyfriend had one with cream cheese topping, I chose the espresso.

And Kid Sis just had her album release here in NY this past Wednesday. Really actually considering buying it. Just cause I have a crush on her, definitely not cause I’m crushing on this song…

It’s nice to fit some history in with all my eating. What a beautiful day.

Chicken Plate

November 15, 2009

This is one of the best things I’ve had so far. And I crave it almost everyday. Chicken, lamb, rice, salad, ridiculous yogurt dressing stuff… Oh, here comes another heart attack.

Snipets Of A Day

October 30, 2009

So many things I’m loving about New York. Like, this one day when…

We wandered around our hood… In the rain. And found Dante’s, with their cranberry cornbread!

And creamed spinach and 4th Of July beans… And RIBS. And side note, I’ve eaten ribs 4 times since I’ve been in New York. YUM.

And I fell in love with these sidewalk planters.

Then we had a family (artsy) outing.

To Times Square, in more rain.

To get JUNIORS!

This “Something Different” sandwich thing is to die for. Potato pancakes outside of hot brisket. With adju sauce and apple sauce?! Damn… Heart attack number 2.

And yes, we came here for this.

I win.

It’s getting real chilly around here… And today, I’m off to eat more amazing NY cuisine.

I should really get a job soon. Nah.
